Jackpot

I have just returned from the Steve Hed Museum and National Archive with some amazing, recently unearthed finds.  My intention is to not turn this blog into a classifieds ad, or our own version of NIBUlist.  But these frames were just to cool to not take some photos of, and show them off.

This slightly hip, little fixie guy inside my head is always looking at classic old frames with a ravenous "tear down" mentality of classic bikes with the - oh so right - drop outs appropriate for a fixed gears.  My attitude is slightly leaning the other way, as I would love to build up a super smooth classically correct '70s-'80s shifter bike.  But in the meantime.  Let's talk cool.

The sought after little phrase when talking about classics is the valuable - NOS.  Now that has nothing to do with the giggle gas that Lyell would give you to calm you down before yanking out your front teeth - Nor does it stand for the booster system of the Millennium Flacon.  New Old Stock - old stuff, that is brand new.  Or I guess you could call it old stuff that is brand new.  Either way.  It's old bike stuff, that has never been used.

Check out this lineup.

All new, all French - all mid 50's cm.

Some more photos to appreciate

There are still a few more of these dandies sitting under glass that I can get my hands on.  You know, I could see a bike gang being started around a fleet like this.  Or maybe, the NIBU polo team.  We could all be on same equipment when we start competing in the PBPA.  The Pro Bike Polo Association circuit has a challenging schedule, and strict requirements for team outfitting.  It's a thought.

Now for the Italian in you…

Again, this blog isn't the "FOR SALE" typical BS that you may find elsewhere - but I do want to let you know I brought these frames home to North Iowa to distribute to those of taste (French Fries and Cannolis).  $70 a frame.  Sorry but no forks, no bottom brackets, to headsets, and I have a couple of seatposts.  Just wanted to pass along some cool possibilities for us in North Iowa.  Otherwise, these would have ended up in the basement at ONEonONE - and picked over by our fixie brothers and sisters to the north.  At the very least, it was a cool photo shoot this morning on my steps.

DONT FORGET TO CHECK IN WITH THE FISTLERS TO GET YOUR NEW NIBY KIT ORDERED!!!!!
