Open Mic Night at NIBU
The North Iowa Bicycle Underground is you. The Underground is them. More importantly, the Underground is Us. This has been created for everyone. Everyone to partake, to allow their voice to be heard, and to feel like they belong. The principal writers of this blog are here to prod along the creativity. Creative cycling ideals, creative cycling events, and creative cycling writing.
This is where you fit in. We are all NIBU, and as such, we all have a voice. We all have the opportunity to voice our thoughts and ideas. Remember that old post, in the infant stages of NIBU, where we deputized all of you to assist us in creating events that you have always wanted to do? Here is your chance to do so at your keyboards.

So get out your bongos, draw yourself a pencil thin mustache, put on your baret, and start holding your cigarette in the "beatnik three finger underneath style" - and start typing.
Luckily we have a resident creative writing professor in Mr. Benjamin F. Fistler, the third. An amount of proof reading will take place, and any editorial suggestions will be made. Of course any material submitted of an offensive sort result in a slight case of hobbling, and not posted (god I love you). So keep it somewhat clean.
Start writing your muse on any cycling issue you want. As you have noticed in our postings, we like to include links to relevant material, and photos. In your prose, when you want to insert a photo or link, book mark them with brackets [like these⦠put - insert photo of naked man being chased by squirrel, here] or [ link the words "chased by squirrel" to this site: yada.yada.yada.]
You get the picture. Email your new found love of Emily Dickinson to eric@nibu.info. We will send back an email letting you know that we have received it. Boom. There you are. You have become a published correspondent of the North Iowa Bicycle Underground. As all others, this is an unpaid position at NIBU. Keep it snarky, keep it witty, keep it real, and and keep your hands to yourself.
Can't wait to see what you are all made of.
