READ THIS FIRST

In a previous post, I quoted our good friend Navin Johnson in saying, "Things are going to start happening to us now".  He was talking about a phone book listing - I was talking about the publicity for Cranksgiving.

Our illustrious home news paper, the Globe Gazette, contacted me about a press release I put out about on the event, and their very own "Scoop" (Dick Johnson), had some questions about the event.

Click here to read the news brief.

Since a link to this site was posted along with the brief, I wanted to take a moment to explain what you see before you.

The North Iowa Bicycle Underground was essentially started to bridge the gap between the racing cyclists, the touring cyclists, the lone wolf winter gravel road cyclists, trail blazing single track building mountain bikers, and all the "Other" forms of cycling.  This isn't a spoof.  This isn't Spinal Tap.  This is the real.

Cranksgiving was organized from the Charitable Giving Department of NIBU, and this blog is maintained by the Creative Thoughts and Musings Department.  Some of posting may have slightly offensive language - but not much.  The great thing about this media.  And ALL media for that fact, is that if you come across an item or article you find offensive, you are able to skip it, turn it off.  Quit.  Go do a different site.

We want you to read our thoughts, take part in our events, and join us in bringing pro cycling efforts to the minds of everyone in this great city, county, state, nation and world.

Now I know that sounds a little Bono for some of you, but is the truth.  We just want to have fun.

So, now you have been educated by our primer.  Please flip around our postings, and we do so very much hope to see you at Cranksgiving.  Feeding the hungry is a very noble thing, and doing so on a bike is beyond noble.  It is super greenish noble.
