WTF, why don't you come visit, eh?

Leading up to tonights NFL's super dramatic, romance gone bad, money for nothin', just want to keep playing into my 50's, need an extension on my Wrangler Jeans sponsorship game between the Vikes and Packers...  I happened across a little tid bit about the visiting teams home state.

Check out this link about the Wisconsin Tourism Federation wanting to do a little name change for some reason.  The WTF figured that the number of people flocking to Wisconsin was aided/hindered by a little known acronym that the hippy underground had been using when communicating using wireless and computer devices.   The mere 153 million cellular phone users in America alone that used text messages, and typed the acronym WTF;  are actually not referring to the Tourism Federation, but to another group of words that are short for surprise or skepticism.

Texts sent to me with "WTF" in the body of the text did always leave me puzzled…  I could never quite figure out why people would aways say "Wisconsin Tourism Federation" as a reply to one of my stupid questions or comments.  I just figured that they were using the "WTF" to tell me to "Get Lost".  Like "Why don't you take a trip to Wisconsin".

This kind of goes along with the strange story of a certain high school girls soccer team that was not allowed to wear team shirts that had the the acronym "SILF" on the front.  For some reason, the school administration had a problem with the tag line "Soccer players I'd Like to Foul".  It did seem a little lacking in the sportsmanship area - wanting to foul and such.  But still seemed over the top, and a little Hitler-ish.

Any way, heres to you Wisconsin.  "Looking for a place to buy great cheese? Just think 'WTF', and go to Wisconsin."
